Upper Advanced
The Upper Advanced course is designed for students who already have a strong command of Italian and want to further refine their fluency, vocabulary, and communication skills. The course focuses primarily on conversation through discussions on a wide range of cultural, social, and current topics.
Using authentic materials such as articles, videos, podcasts, and other media, students will expand their language skills while exploring different linguistic registers, from informal to formal Italian. Grammar is not the main focus, but specific areas will be reviewed according to students’ needs.

Course Description
The Upper Advanced course is designed for students who want to achieve greater fluency and confidence in high-level Italian conversations. Through discussions on a variety of cultural, social, and current topics, students will refine their ability to express complex ideas and opinions naturally.
Using authentic materials such as articles, videos, literary excerpts, and other media, the course helps students expand their vocabulary and explore different linguistic registers, from informal to formal Italian. Grammar is not the main focus, but specific areas will be reviewed according to students’ needs, allowing them to communicate with greater accuracy and confidence.
If enrollment is insufficient, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the class.

Meet your Instructor
Paola Marchegiani
Born in Pescara and raised in Bologna, this teacher holds a degree in Biological Science. After working in IT, they moved to Calgary, earned a Teaching Assistant Certificate, and rediscovered their passion for teaching Italian. They now teach at the Dante Alighieri Society of BC.
