Bar Italia is an informal meeting for intermediate Italian learners who love football. Discuss Serie A, European cups, transfers, the national team, and Italian players abroad while improving your conversational skills. Participants will expand vocabulary, gain confidence speaking about sports, and enjoy lively discussions with fellow fans in a relaxed, fun environment centered on il calcio.

Course Description
At Bar Italia, intermediate Italian learners will have the opportunity to discuss all aspects of Italian football in an informal, friendly setting. Topics include Serie A matches of the current season, transfers, Italian teams in European competitions, the national team, and the performance of Italian players and coaches abroad.
This interactive format allows participants to practice and expand their conversational skills, build sports-related vocabulary, and gain confidence speaking about current events in Italian football. Each session encourages lively discussion, exchange of opinions, and cultural insights into the passion and traditions behind il calcio italiano. Whether you are a Juventus fan, an Azzurri supporter, or simply a lover of the game, Bar Italia offers a fun, engaging, and immersive way to improve your Italian while sharing your enthusiasm for Italy’s favorite sport.

Meet your Instructor
Serena Piccoli
Serena was born in Padova (Veneto) in 1974, in the same region and in the same year her all time favourite football player was born: Alessandro Del Piero. Was that a sign of her destiny? Since she was born she has always been a great football fan of Juventus and... Italia! She has also played in a football team wearing a number 10 jersey (like Del Piero), although she didn't play as well as him. She gets angry when Juventus or Gli Azzurri don't play well and feel happy when they win. Why don't you come and join her in discussing il calcio italiano?
