About the film: "Mirabile Visione: Inferno," directed by Matteo Gagliardi,
is a docufilm that explores what Dante Alighieri might
perceive of our contemporary world if he were to return
to life today. With this premise, Professor Argenti guides
her students on a descent into Dante's Inferno,
elucidating the interpretations and meanings of the
supreme poet's words while retracing the same journey
taken by Dante himself. Each circle of the Inferno is
reinterpreted within the context of modern society,
illustrating the great evils of our age, including the
impacts of economic crises, particularly capitalism, and
above all, the climate and environmental crises affecting
the entire planet.
Visually mesmerizing and thought-provoking!
