In May 2021, in the Italian city of Siena, the beautifully decorated floor of the city's Cathedral was uncovered unveiling a series of over fifty wood inlays.
The floor is the result of a complex iconographic programme carried out from the fourteenth to the nineteenth century. The drawings were created mostly by local artists, including Sassetta, Domenico di Bartolo, Matteo di Giovanni, Domenico Beccafumi, and Pinturicchio.
Visitors can admire the masterpiece in accordance with security protocols until October 17, 2021.
