The Dante Italian Language School in Vancouver operates in accordance with the framework established by the Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the
Italian Republic and the Dante Alighieri Society for the promotion of the
Italian language and culture.
The Dante Alighieri Society is the only institution in Canada accredited to administer the
PLIDA Tests (for the assessment of Italian as a foreign language), officially recognized by the
Italian Government and the European Union.

The Dante Alighieri Society of BC is one of the 480 chapters located outside of Italy. The headquarters are in Rome.
We administer the PLIDA Certification Tests recognized by the Italian Government an the EU to evaluate an individual’s linguistic competencies in Italian.

PLIDA Certification Tests assess Italian as a foreign or second language. Every year thousands of candidates throughout the world test their language competence and obtain the PLIDA Certificate, which is recognized by the Italian Government and accepted globally in order to:

Your membership fee helps the Society’s volunteers to promote and organize language courses, maintain the website, carry out administrative duties, organize cultural events and clubs, promote its activities.
