About the Event
To celebrate the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death, the Dante Alighieri Society of BC presents Italian Chef Claudia Fraschini, who will launch her book of Italian recipes inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy titled Beata o Dannata? La Divina Commedia è servita (Trenta Editore, Milan).

Please see below the list of ingredients for the two showcase recipes. If you want to follow chef Claudia in real-time in their preparation, remember to boil the potatoes before the start of the cooking class!
For the gnocchi:
Red potatoes (1Kg) or potato flakes, all purposes flour (200gr), butter (60 gr), fontina from Valle d'Aosta (or, alternatively, gorgonzola o toma cheese from Alpine pastures -– 300gr).
For the Cognac apricots:
Dried apricots (16), Cognac , star anise, puff pastry (250gr), hazelnut flour, dark chocolate (50 gr), one egg, sugar, butter (30gr), Savoiardi biscuits (lady fingers – 6).
