The "Revue de belles lettres" (RBL) is a Swiss literary magazine founded in 1836, making it one of the oldest French-language journals. It focuses on contemporary literature, poetry, essays, and criticism, supporting both established and emerging writers.

This event is organized by the Dante Alighieri Society of BC, with the kind support of the Consulate General of Switzerland and the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver to celebrate the Week of Italian Language in the World.

Alessio Christen has been collaborating for several years with the Centre des littératures en Suisse romande at the University of Lausanne. In particular, he has contributed to the Œuvres complètes of the poet Gustave Roud and the essayist and journalist Charles-Albert Cingria, to whom he dedicated his doctoral thesis. He is currently undertaking a post-doctoral project on the autobiographical practice of Swiss writer Catherine Safonoff. Christen is actively involved in several literary journals, including La Revue de Belles-Lettres, and works as a playwright and literary consultant for contemporary theater..

Francesco Deotto (1982) is an essayist, poet, translator, & visual artist. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Geneva, where he also taught comparative literature. His published essays focus on the relationship between literature & philosophy, the utopian tradition, and the connection between poetry and photography. He is a member of the editorial board of the magazine Configurazioni and is in the organizational and scientific committee of the Poesiæuropa festival. He is the author of three poetry books: Nella prefazione d'una battaglia (2018), Avventure e disavventure di una casa gialla (2023), and Finestre (in press).

Prisca Agustoni, born and raised in Italian-speaking Switzerland, spent ten years in Geneva, where she earned a degree in Literature and Philosophy. After a period in Central America, she moved to Brazil, in Minas Gerais, where she works as a translator and as an associate professor of Italian and Comparative Literature. She directs the translation series for the Brazilian publishing house Macondo and contributes to the Italian magazine Internazionale and the newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore. A multilingual poet, she writes in Italian, French, and Portuguese. Among her most recent publications are: Un ciel provisoire (Samizdat, 2015); L'ora zero (Lietocolle la gialla, 2020); O mundo mutilado (Quelônio, 2020, finalist for the Jabuti Prize); O gosto amargo dos metais (7Letras, 2022, Oceanos International Prize); and Verso la ruggine (Interlinea, 2022), with which she won the Swiss Literature Prize and was shortlisted for the Fortini Prize. Her new poetry collection in Italian and French will be released in early 2025.

Federico Italiano (1976), poet, translator, & essayist, has published six poetry collections, including Habitat (Elliot, 2020, "Tirinnanzi" Prize 2020) and La grande nevicata (Donzelli, 2023, "Bookciack" Prize 2024). Among his accolades, he received the "Benno Geiger" Prize for Poetry Translation (2021). His poems, featured in anthologies in Italy and abroad, have been translated in about ten languages. The German publisher Hanser released a volume of his selected poems in German translation, Sieben Arten von Weiß (2022). As of September 2024, he is an associate professor of Comparative Literature at La Sapienza University in Rome.
