A “Musicultural” Masterclass with maestro Sergio Pugnalin

Join maestro Sergio Pugnalin for an enchanting journey across the musical languages, styles, cultures, and histories of the Eastern Mediterranean. Through a variety of traditional lutes, Pugnalin will narrate and sing captivating stories that transcend time and borders.
Musicultural themes explored during the event:
• Wandering songs: melodies and tales that freely cross languages and cultures
• Balkan popular culture and the Ottoman ecumene
• Sephardic Jewish culture, from Spain to the East
• Songs of Xenitiá: experiencing distance from one’s homeland, from Greece to Southern Italy

Sergio Pugnalin is an Italian musician specializing in world music, acoustic guitars, and traditional plectrum lutes, including the oud, bağlama saz, laouto, baglamás, lavta, and eastern mandolin. A classically trained guitarist, he performs internationally and teaches as the Acoustic Guitar/Plectrum Chair at SFOM (School of Musical Training and Orientation) in the Val d’Aosta region – https://www.sergiopugnalin.com
